Dr. Marcus L. Palermo was born in Fairfax, VA and grew up in the Metro DC area before moving to Phoenix during High School.  Dr. Palermo very quickly acclimated to the warm weather and knew Arizona was home.  He attended Arizona State University where he graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Italian. 

Dr. Palermo is a 2005 graduate of the prestigious University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni, School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA.  Pacific is the only dental school in the US to offer an accelerated, three-year track to a Doctorate in Dental Surgery.  Regarded as one of the top dental schools in the world, great emphasis is placed on excellence in clinical dentistry and providing the highest standard of care to patients. Always pursuing the latest advances in dental technology, Pacific is one of very few dental schools to allow dental students to practice using the Surgical Operating Microscope.  It was during his time at Pacific that Dr. Palermo developed his passion for microscopic dentistry and endodontics. 

Dr. Palermo graduated with High Honors from Pacific and was inducted into OKU, a national dental honor society.  Dr. Palermo was able to further his dental education in Endodontics at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.  Temple was the first dental school to offer an Endodontic residency program in 1949, nearly 20 years before Endodontics was recognized as a dental specialty.  Noted as one of the best academic programs in the country, Temple put great emphasis on studying endodontic literature and making sound clinical judgments based on proven scientific methods. 

After leaving Philadelphia in 2007, Dr. Palermo returned home to Arizona and has been practicing in the Phoenix area ever since.  Dr. Palermo’s passion to provide the highest quality endodontic therapy has led him to join Dr. McClammy at North Scottsdale Endodontics.  His vision is to work with referring dental offices that also strive to provide their patients with the highest standard of care and excellence.  Dr. Palermo feels that communication is a vital part of quality care both with patients as well as referring dentists.

When not in the office, Dr. Palermo enjoys spending time with family, golfing, river rafting and hiking.
